The British Association of Monaco is registered in Monaco as an independent Association to promote the well-being and to protect the interests of the members of the British and Commonwealth community residing in Monaco and surrounding districts. The association aims to assist the members of this community and promote the existing and historical friendly relationship with the Principality. BAM does not hold political or sectarian aims, is entirely self-funded, with no financial backing from any outside source, and is managed by an elected Committee of voluntary members. British and Commonwealth citizens may become Full Members of the Association, and people of other nationalities who have particular ties with, or an interest in Britain are eligible for Associate Membership. Associate Members enjoy all the privileges of membership, but are not eligible to vote at General Meetings. There are currently around 600 full and associate members.
