|BAM Social Events|
The Events Sub-Committee organise regular and varied events throughout the year which will appeal to all the different types and ages of membership. Apart from the official events such as the Annual General Meeting of Members and the Queen’s Birthday Party to which Monégasque VIPs are invited, we also organise larger scale events such as Burns Night and fund raising events. These are popular and help us to raise funds to support the Community Support activities of the Association.
These events are complemented throughout the year with illustrated talks from art to wine, bank cocktails, garden visits, café theatre, workshops, days out to Italy to guided tours of museums. BAM members come from all walks of life, with many and varied interests and different budgets, so we are always looking for new ideas and especially welcome ideas from members. We also take into account that there are members with children and have organised days out to include all the family, such as picnics, treasure hunts to beach parties.
On a regular basis, a cocktail evening/Happy Hour is held the second and fourth Thursday of every month at different venues in Monaco at which members and friends have an opportunity to meet Committee members and others . Non-members who wish to know more about BAM are also welcome.
BAM also holds a regular Friday Friendship Club held every first and third Friday of each month between 3 pm - 5 pm. These are held in St. Paul's Church Library (down the steps at the side of the Church in avenue de Grande Bretagne, Monaco). This is an excellent way to meet up with friends over afternoon tea and home-made cakes. There is an ongoing jigsaw to mull over, book and magazines to browse, and an ever-increasing DVD lending library. Attendance is free of charge.
In addition, if any member wishes to start up an idea of their own (e.g. bridge, Scrabble, tennis, walks, days out) we will put a notice under 'Friendly Links' in the monthly Newsletter.
