Their wedding in April 1956 was more than a royal celebration: it was a spectacular meeting
of Hollywood glamour, European royalty and the new power of television. The press quickly
christened it the “Wedding of the Century.”
Seventy years later in 2026, Monaco is revisiting that extraordinary moment. The “Wedding
of the Century” exhibition at the Prince’s Palace runs from 18th June to 25th September 2026, bringing together photographs, films, jewellery, gowns, wedding gifts and previously unseen archival material. It retraces the extraordinary week of celebrations, from Grace Kelly's arrival in Monaco to the couple's departure for their honeymoon.
Seven decades on, the wedding of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier remains one of the
defining royal spectacles of the twentieth century - a moment when Monaco, Hollywood and the emerging age of mass television came together to create a fairy tale watched by millions.
